Four Westlake

Corporate | Texas

Four WestLake is an office tower in Houston’s Energy Corridor that recently underwent a full reimagining of its ground floor. IA Interior Architects transformed the former single-use lobby into a connected series of amenities, including a lobby, coffee bar, food hall, conferencing areas, lounge, and fitness zones. The goal was to create a hospitality-inspired environment where people can move easily between work, meetings, and social moments while feeling grounded in one cohesive design story.

Trinity Surfaces supplied the tile that ties these spaces together. A terrazzo-look 36" x 36" porcelain tile in the Night and Earth colors sets the tone on the lobby floor, creating a calm, continuous surface that supports the building’s main circulation paths and pairs well with the mix of wood, stone, and metal finishes. Night defines the different zones within the open lobby, giving each area its own sense of place. Earth highlights the open spaces and walkways between these zones, guiding movement through the amenity level. On the bar and coffee counter, the same tile appears on the backsplash in a 12" x 36" Smoke textured deco, creating a clean, vertical backdrop that adds height, texture, and an easy-to-maintain surface behind a high-use food-and-beverage area.

To round out the palette, the design team layered in additional porcelain and ceramic wall tile across supporting areas and accents. Dimensional and smooth wall tiles in soft greens, blues, and warm neutrals introduce subtle color and texture on feature walls while keeping the overall palette calm and cohesive. Together with the terrazzo-look floor tile, these surfaces help Four WestLake shift from a traditional office lobby to a lively, multi-use destination that feels unified, durable, and ready for daily tenant traffic.
